Blessings of the Blood is a book written by women, for women. It grew out of Cornwoman's own spiritual quest to find a deeper meaning to her bodily cycles. During this personal search, she could find no modern literature that offered her the positive image of menstruation for which she was looking. She began talking to her female friends about their bleeding experiences, and this collection of stories grew out of those revealing conversations. Blessings deals with all stages of womanhood, but the author makes it clear that she is dedicating this book to the younger women. She gives to them, and other women, a positive image of menstruation by showing them that spiritual growth and healing can be achieved through monthly bleeding.
